James Tribble and Pete Williams.

During a period of four years, Pete Williams' research group will deepen the knowledge of why the optic nerve breaks down in the case of glaucoma, and how to protect it. The research group is using the latest technology to develop early interventions to treat glaucoma by targeting cells in the optic nerve.

Pete Williams' research has previously shown that nicotinamide, a variant of vitamin B3, can protect the optic nerve from breaking down.
